Feeding Ourselves and Others welcomes the involvement of the broader community in the project. This can be done in many ways. For example, here are a few ways you can help and support the garden:
put on your gardening gloves and come and join us in the garden on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays between 10:30am and 2pm, we always welcome new volunteers (see contact page for location)
purchase our vegetables at The Local General Store and our other markets as posted during the growing season
contribute to activities undertaken as part of the project (e.g., providing workshops, taking photographs of the garden, assisting with public relations materials)
contribute tools, seedlings or other materials necessary to make the garden successful
take your refundable bottles to any of these three Bottle Depot locations: 4261 Glanford Ave, 655 Queens Ave and 3961 Quadra St. and tell the cashier that you would like to donate the proceeds from your bottles to Feeding Ourselves and Others
"It [the garden] has drawn participants out, causing them to have more confidence in their ability to do new things and to feel themselves to be part of a useful community."
